Thermodynamic Steam Trap
Thermodynamic traps work on the difference in dynamic response to velocity change in the flow of compressible and in-compressible fluids. As steam enters, static pressure above the disk forces the disk against the valve seat. The static pressure over a large area overcomes the high inlet pressure of the steam. As the steam starts to condense, the pressure against the disk lessens and the trap cycles. This essentially makes a TD trap a “time cycle” device.
• Uniquely designed with maintainable seat.
• Corrosion resistant stainless steel construction.
• Differential hardness value for seat and Disc.
• Oxidation free heat treatment (vacuum) for seat and disc.
• Functional test- 100% on Steam.

• It is an internment discharge type of trap, which works on velocity difference.
• It is mainly used in main steam line for drain application.
• Thermodynamic traps can operate across their entire working range without any adjustment or change of internals.
• They are compact, simple, lightweight and have a large condensate capacity for their size.
• As the disc is the only moving part, maintenance can easily be carried out without removing the trap from the line.
