Cation Columns

Description

The Cation Exchange Column is an essential component of the Steam and Water Analysis System (SWAS), used to remove positively charged ions such as calcium, magnesium, sodium, and other cationic impurities from boiler water and condensate samples. This ensures accurate cation conductivity measurement, enabling early detection of ionic contamination and corrosion risk in power plant water-steam cycles.

The system is available in Single Column and Duplex Column configurations. The Single Column design provides reliable ion-exchange performance for standard sampling applications, offering stable conditioning of samples in continuous operation. The Duplex Column configuration features two ion-exchange units arranged for uninterrupted operation, allowing one column to remain in service while the other is in regeneration or standby mode. This ensures maximum uptime, redundancy, and consistent sample quality, especially in critical process and high-demand environments.
